But it's that five percent of people that just [complain], and they spend so much time — these losers in their basement, I like to call 'em — where all they have is just time to sit there and write on a keyboard about what a loser you are. It's, like, what have you done with your life?
So I think that really contributed to part of his head spot. He had some sexual abuse as a child, and that always weighed on him, and that kind of culminated into this thought process where Chester never felt good enough or never felt appreciated or never felt like he was worth it. He had this emptiness inside that I don't think he could really explain to a lot of people.
I got to know this side of him quite well. He could have a thousand people, after a show, wanting to meet him and tell him how great he is and how much he touched their life in a profoundly emotionally positive way, gave them an outlet for their own pain and their own distress, and internally, Chester would not hear that. He would say, 'Thank you,' and he would still feel like he wasn't enough.
We'd have this conversation, and he'd be, like, 'I just don't feel like I'm smart enough. I don't feel like I'm good enough. Forget the singing. I don't care about you as a singer; I care about you as a human being. I don't care that you are a great singer. Yes, there are no heavy guitars, Chester Bennington is not screaming his lungs out, and the band is not angry as it used to be. One More Light offers ten electronic rock hybrids, filled with many more different influences.
On one side we have guitars, drums, and rock feel, while on the other side there are synths, beats or Odesza style chopped vocals. But how does it work together? Better than you might expect. With all songs on mid to slow tempo, every aspect of the sound can get to the listener.
Front to back, record acts like a whole, like a well-thought concept, and not just a compilation of songs, and while not all songs are equally good, there is more than enough of quality stuff here. So, while "Heavy" featuring Kiiara is probably the poppiest song on the record, it may be one of the biggest surprises on it.
On the other side of the spectrum, "Talking to Myself" has the most rock or live feel, leaving every other track somewhere in between. The remote Detour Discotheque nightclub will open as an extremely limited pop-up in early The news arrived on Veterans Day alongside the announcement of the Ubbi Dubbi music festival lineup. Linkin Park is one of those generation-defining bands. One of the artists who offered something new and made their own, but also the identity of one era.
Looking back, looking back, looking back What if we look into One More Light, but really look into it? Browny brownypaul. Unfortunately I have to agree that this new album is the worst they have produced so far.
Yes it really sucks that this album is so bad. I will give them another chance on their next release. At least it is always fun to see which way they go for a record. That surprise factor is something that only Linkin Park has, I guess. LP are far more talented than this, why they took an easy way out with an album astounds me.
Yes true! The stuff on the radio all sounds very similar, even the voices. I guess there must be something like Indie-Pop which are the artists I referred to. And even as a pop record One More Light falls flat. If they team up with other artists they should choose top acts that can actually benefit them. I have never been a fan of Linkin Park ever since Minutes to Midnight. After they released that album I thought they were getting too softcore rock.
Then they completely did a and went pop-rock. I gave up on them already, and continue to give up on them for every album release. I think we all learned something from his death.
